People are Paying for Water
The community people, Monastery and all other users are contributing in cash for use of Water in Tashi Jong. Support for Sustainable Society with the financial support from Foundation Friends of Guyana, The Netherlands successfully completed Safe water project in Tashi Jong. One of the step for sustainablity of the project after comletion was meeting recurring cost from water users. Award for First No -Tobacco Village
The government of Himachal Pradesh awarded TASHI JONG as First No Tobacco Village in the state on the occasion of Independence day this year. the villagers collected smoking & tobacco items from their village shops and set them into fire worth Rs. 58,088.00 rupees. The news was published in the leading news papers which draw attention of the Chief minister. The step was identified as unique and people of Tashi Jong, Local NGO, youth groups were honoured by the State Government of Himachal Pradesh.
